NOW OPEN: Doyle’s Outpost Just Upped Alexandria’s Game
City of Alexandria Councilman John Chapman was beaming. “We are super excited to have quality laser tag here in Alexandria again!”
ALEXANDRIA, VA – “Let’s get this party started!” declared Doyle’s Outpost owner Kevin Fagan, as he and Alexandria Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Joe Haggerty cut the ribbon, officially opening Doyle’s Outpost Friday night.
There’s something for everyone in this restaurant and gaming entertainment venue that features laser tag, virtual reality, and dozens of video and sports games in its arcade. More than 20 70” HD tvs show sporting events of all kinds above the full bar, which includes specialty cocktails and locally brewed beer by Port City, DC Brau and Devil’s Backbone. The menu has everything from pizza to pastas to panini and more, as well as appetizers, desserts, and a kids’ menu.
If the crowd at opening was any indication, the kids love this place. “The laser tag is the best because it feels like you’re in a movie. I can run around and shoot my brothers,” said 10-year-old Delaney. Austin, age 13, liked the basketball game because he could play against his friend at the same time.
Enthusiasm was high for the virtual reality games also, from battling zombies to pitching snowballs. Convenient arcade Mission Cards make it easy to pay for games and track tickets. Once players finish gaming, cards can be redeemed for prizes at the Redemption Counter.

“We’re excited to be open for business,” said Melanie Reyes, Events and Sales Manager. “We offer corporate events for team building and fundraisers, and we’re a great spot for birthday parties, family gatherings, and bachelor and bachelorette parties as well.”
After helping a young boy and his mother adjust the goggles for a good fit on one of the arcade games, employee Robert Gardner said simply, “I love it here – it’s so fun and exciting. As a kid, my love for toys moved on to video games, and then it was a natural step to work with them.”

Fagan is thrilled. Borrowing a family name from his grandmother, he wanted to convey the concept of an outpost lying just beyond the perimeter of nearby Washington, DC. In fact, the laser tag embraces that theme in the Battle for DC.
Doyle’s Outpost is a great complement to the adjacent Planet Fitness in the Seminary Plaza shopping center in West Alexandria. Catch all the NFL playoff games there this weekend, as well as the NCAA national championship Monday night, when Clemson and LSU will vie for the title.
Hours are Monday-Thursday, 11am-11pm; Friday, 11am-1am; Saturday, 10am-1am; Sunday 10am-11pm. Adults only every day after 9pm.
