Pet Obit: Murphy Gabriel, Part of the Nature’s Nibbles Staff and Family Passes at 15

"Murphy allowed us to love him for 15 years."

Murphy Gabriel

ALEXANDRIA, VA – On Friday, April 12, 2019, Alexandria lost a beloved member of its canine community when Murphy Gabriel passed away.

Murphy belonged to the Anne and Chris Gabriel family, who understand and empathize with cats and dogs more than most. They are the owners of Nature’s Nibbles, an award-winning pet food store selling natural and organic alternatives to commercial pet foods, now celebrating 10 years in business.

Many customers had met and known Murphy and will mourn his loss as well. Alexandria resident Sean Crumley commented on the post, “Sad news. Murph made quite an impression on me when you all first opened. So sorry to hear of his passing.”

Anne Gabriel posted on her Facebook page yesterday, “We celebrate the life of our beloved Murphy. Murph, The Murphinator, Murphy-doodles. Murphy allowed us to love him for 15 years. He never suffered from illness, was fiercely independent and loved napping on the sun-drenched floor. He was my spirit animal that always knew when I wasn’t feeling well and stuck right by my side. In the end, his body failed him, and we had to say goodbye as hard as that is, it was best for him. We loved you tremendously, Doodles.”
