ALEXANDRIA, VA – Senior Services of Alexandria’s (SSA) Annual Gala scheduled for March 14 has been postponed due to concerns over the possible spread of COVID-19 and the potential health risk to older adults in particular.

“SSA’s top concern in all things is the health and well-being of Alexandria’s older adults and those who support them, said Mary Lee Anderson, SSA’s Executive Director. We feel that any risk, no matter how small, is not worth the potential consequences given the populations we serve.”

SSA’s Spring Gala is a highlight of the year for the organization to share its progress and vision for the future with friends and supporters, and to honor people recognized for their extraordinary service to the community.  SSA hopes to reschedule the Gala festivities for Saturday, June 27 at 6:00 pm.  More detailed information will be forthcoming.

Senior Services of Alexandria wishes to thank its many Gala sponsors, attendees, honorees, volunteers and silent auction donors for their ongoing support.  For more information, please contact Senior Services of Alexandria at 703-836-4414 or email Mary Lee Anderson at [email protected].

Senior Services of Alexandria provides services and programs that help foster independence and self-sufficiency, enabling seniors within the City of Alexandria to age with dignity.
