Alexandria, VA – In its nightly email, the city continues to urge residents to stay at home, unless going out is essential. And when out, they stress the importance of maintaining six feet of distance around others.

House Cleaning Tips

Use caution when disinfecting your home against the coronavirus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports a substantial increase in calls to poison control centers since last month. For guidance on cleaning safely, consult  CDC guidelines   When cleaning, wearing gloves and protective gear is advised. Always follow instructions on the product’s label. Do not mix chemicals and keep products away from children.

Consulting with Assisted Living Facility Staff

Do you have a loved one living in an assisted living facility? It is understandable that you may have concerns at this time. The Alexandria Health Department wants to reassure residents that it has close relationships with the facilities in our area. They have provided a list of 14 questions that you can ask staff. These questions can help lessen some of your concern and inform you of safety measures in place.
