Alexandria, VA – Enjoy music? You are in luck. Alexandria Library upgraded their digital music catalog!

Freegal Music is a digital music service offering downloads and streaming. Through a partnership, city library branches can offer the service to patrons for free. All that is needed for access is a library card.

Freegal boasts nearly 15 million songs. The service includes selections from 40,000 labels – including Sony Music – and contains music from over 100 countries. Every song is DRM-Free, which means no digital rights restrictions. Patrons can listen on any device and add songs to their own collection.

There is a catch though. Downloads are limited to five per week. Streaming, however, is unlimited until September 30. So have fun, forget your troubles for a minute or two, and play it loud!
