Coming Soon: The Disability Awareness Awards at Alexandria City Hall

The awards are being presented by the American Physical Therapy Association

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities, in conjunction with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, is proud to honor residents and businesses that are making significant strides in the area of disability empowerment. The Disability Awareness Awards & Reception is pleased to have the support and sponsorship of the American Physical Therapy Association.

The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce presents two awards at the event. The Awareness Award is given for promoting positive awareness among employees of the needs of customers with disabilities. The Hiring Award is given for commitment to hiring persons with disabilities or aiding employees with disabilities in furthering their careers.

Debby Critchley has been an integral part of The Zebra almost from the very beginning by taking on the mantle of Food Editor. Born in Chicago, her parents help develop her palate by exposing her to a variety of cuisines from Chinese to Spanish, French, German, and more. Debby earned her B.A. at Case Western Reserve University and her M.S. from University of Nebraska. She moved to the DMV in 1981.
