Tamales

Good news, bad news my Alexandrians. Good news: job hunting has gone very well and I start next week. Bad news: this will be my last weekend making tamales FULL TIME. Thank you all very, very, very much for all the support you guys have given me. I cannot express this enough. – Jose Ariza

Yunnan

We had such a wonderful dinner at Yunnan By Potomac Noodle House tonight! I highly recommend basically everything, but we got to enjoy the white & red sangria, pork bun, tea egg bun, pork dumplings, kunming douhua, and the baba ofan for dessert (all pictured). Plus, their outdoor dining is dog friendly and AWESOME! Shout-out to Michael our waiter who was phenomenal!

MB Bakery

And here comes the grand marshal of the parade of fall pies and desserts from MB BAKERY ON THE GO. Pear-raspberry frangipane tart. Poached pears and raspberries baked on top of a dense almond cake in a shortbread crust. It’s beautiful, all right, but just as delicious!

The Garden

Sunday nights at The Garden has been our Sunday night treat for nearly two months and I was afraid I’d have nothing new to say, but they have a Chicken Banh Mi that’s new on the menu and I had my first pumpkin beer of the season (and I liked it).
