Torpedo Factory’s Art Safari Moves Online for 25th Year, Oct. 17
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Art Safari at the Torpedo Factory Art Center has been an Alexandria tradition for more than two decades. In past years, kids and their families have been invited to the site to learn about various types of art and participate in hands-on activities. This year, because of the pandemic, organizers have decided that the annual event – in its 25th year – will take place online.
Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Art Safari will happen live on Facebook.
Children can learn to create their own works of art like pinch pots with clay, origami butterflies, marbled paper, and more. The online sessions will feature real-time sessions, pre-recorded demonstrations, and downloadable content. This means that the fun of the Art Safari can be experienced while creation takes place in the comfort of your own home.
Projects are designed for kids ages five to twelve years old. Adult supervision is recommended. Dress for a mess..
