Alexandria Health Department Encourages Residents to Get Flu Shot
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Tonight the Alexandria Health Department (AHD) is encouraging residents who have not already done so to get a flu shot. Influenza and COVID-19 share a number of symptoms, so they stress the importance of getting vaccinated this year. For a list of similarities and differences, click HERE.
Flu vaccination is recommended for those six months of age and older.
The Inova Cares Clinic for Families will host flu shot clinics at its 4700 King Street location. These clinics are specifically for people with no health insurance. They will be held every Wednesday and Friday during the period of Nov. 4 to 20. Appointments are required for the 3 to 5 p.m. timeframe. To make an appointment, call 571-665-6599.
Flu shots are also available to those without health insurance at low cost at AHD and Neighborhood Health locations.
