ALEXANDRIA, VA – A popular event from last holiday season is back! Ice & Lights: The Winter Village at Cameron Run opened Friday, Nov. 20. Featuring ice skating and light shows, it is open for select dates through Jan. 3, 2021.

One day after opening, Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site at 4001 Eisenhower Ave.

“It’s important to choose safe family activities during the holidays, and I’m thrilled that NOVA Parks has put together a fun and safe event this year through careful planning and adherence to public health guidance,“ he said.

Here is how things will be different at Ice & Lights this year.

Social Distancing

Visitors are asked to maintain a distance of six feet around others, per CDC guidelines. Nova Parks requests that people enter at their assigned ticket time to avoid overcrowding and remain in their vehicle until that time.

Face Masks

Visitors aged five years and older are required to wear face masks that “properly cover their noses and mouths except when eating or drinking,” according to the Ice & Lights website.

Sanitation

Nova Parks has rigorous sanitation practices in place that will continue for the remainder of Ice & Lights. They routinely clean surfaces and areas, including counters and restrooms, credit card keypads, and more. The website reads: “Safety is our priority.”
