ALEXANDRIA, VA – During the pandemic, Democracy Federal Credit Union (Democracy FCU) has supported the local community in a number of ways. The financial institution, which has an Alexandria branch in Old Town, has awarded grants to customers in need and welcomed Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) for a discussion of important legislation to help businesses.

Their most recent example of giving happened when Mario Mejia, VP of Delivery Channels, personally delivered lunch to frontline workers at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The pre-operation, operating room, and Patient Services Compliance Unit staff received pizza as a thank-you for their dedication.

In a press release, Democracy FCU stated, “[We are] here for our community during COVID-19, and will continue to give back with supplies, food and monetary donations. [We will] help members with programs to ease any financial hardship that they are facing due to the virus.”

Programs that are now offered include the CASH-N-GO payday loan alternative and the December Skip-A-Pay program. For info on these programs and more, visit DemocracyFCU.org.
