Alexandria, VA – In February 2000, Alyssa Nair was visiting a friend when suddenly a ball of fur ran past the open door. They weren’t sure what they had seen. “It looked like some kind of squirrely pig,” says Alyssa.
They were astounded at the little stranger, who seemed fearless and healthy, and whom the vet soon told her appeared to be a robust four-month old pug puppy.
After checking for a chip and hanging “Found Puppy” signs, it became clear the little pug was Alyssa’s to keep and raise. She immediately fell in love, and in time, wondered who had really saved whom.
In a flash, he was “Pugsley” and he has enjoyed a very good life that includes traveling all over the U.S. and even living abroad. “We have such a special bond that when I leave a room for anything including the bathroom, he cries like a baby and won’t stop until he can be next to me again,” Alyssa continues.
Most days at 21 he spends his time cuddled up with his mommy while she works at home now thanks COVID or taking walks in his stroller before dozing off.
“Every day I wake up and am so grateful to still have him by my side (literally). While most kids who turn 21 can’t wait to go to the bars and party, this guy can’t wait for his shot of bone broth and a long nap.”
Thanks to our sponsor, Tomabe Bandanas, Pugsley will be getting a custom bandana with his name on it, plus a Zebra dog bowl from us!
