Nominations Open for Alexandria Celebrates Women Awards

ALEXANDRIA,VA- March is Women’s History Month. The local nonprofit Alexandria Celebrates Women wants to recognize those working on the frontlines during the pandemic. The all-volunteer organization today announced that the 2021 Alexandria Celebrates Women Awards will take place on Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m.

Know an essential worker who has benefited Alexandria in a positive way? A nurse, postal worker, or law enforcement official? The selection period is open until March 15. Submit a nomination HERE.

This event will be free and online for viewing. It will center around biographical videos of five women.

Selections will be based on the following criteria:

1) There will be two categories with a total of five awards. The two categories recognize women who volunteer AND women who have gone above and beyond while performing their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2) Nominees must live or work in Alexandria.

3) Nominees must work or volunteer on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

4) In 750 words or less, submit your nominee’s story.

5) Complete the nomination form available at the link above.
