3,100 Registered: Join the Fun During Blossom Kite Fly This Weekend
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Enjoy flying kites? Create or use one you own and participate in Blossom Kite Fly on March 27 and 28. This continues the tradition of the Blossom Kite Festival that takes place during the National Cherry Blossom Festival in a socially distanced manner. Send your kite skyward from your backyard or local park.
“Blossom Kite Fly will have families and friends getting a healthy dose of fresh air and exercise as they make new memories with each other and experience the joy that comes from that springtime tradition of flying a kite,” said Diana Mayhew, President and CEO of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
The Blossom Kite Fly web page features virtual kite-making workshops to spark imaginations, as well as videos of world-class kite flying demonstrations from Wings Over Washington Kite Club.
More than 3,100 people are already registered. Join in the fun by registering HERE. It is completely free.
Participants can share their photos and videos on social media. Use the hashtags #BlossomKiteFly and #StepIntoSpring.
