Alexandria: Here’s How to Help the Boy Scouts Collect Donations for Annual Food Drive, November 13

Scouts Will Collect Food Donations Left on Doorsteps

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Scouts will fan out across Alexandria City and the Alexandria portion of Fairfax County to collect nonperishable food donations left by residents on their doorsteps by 8:30 a.m. on November 13.

Residents throughout Alexandria will have the opportunity to fight hunger and food insecurity in our area by supporting food banks through the annual Scouting for Food drive run by the Colonial District of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Scouts will fan out across Alexandria City and the Alexandria portion of Fairfax County to collect nonperishable food donations left by residents on their doorsteps by 8:30 a.m. on November 13.  The Scouts will bring the donations to local food agencies including Alive!, United Community Ministries, Koinonia Foundation, and Lorton Community Action Center.

Along with donations collected by other Scouts across the DC metropolitan, the local Scouting for Food drive hopes to collect one million pounds of food donations.
