Alexandria Holding Public Hearing Regarding Natural Resource Management, January 17

Park and Recreation Commission to hold Public Hearing on the Natural Resource Management Plan

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing on the Natural Resource Management Plan (NRMP) on Thursday, January 17, 2019, 7 p.m., at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. The NRMP represents the City’s development of a strategic course of action for preserving, protecting, and sustainability in managing Alexandria’s natural resources and native biodiversity.  Following the public hearing, the Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting.

The purpose of the NRMP is to establish a comprehensive, science-based approach to natural resource management in the City of Alexandria through natural resource conservation and stewardship. This plan also provides recommendations and actions to achieve the resource protection and stewardship mission of RPCA and the long-term management and sustainability of the City’s natural resources.
