Upcoming Community Meeting for Energy and Climate Change Task Force

Understanding the Eco Picture Going Forward in our World

ALEXANDRIA, VA – What can I do to conserve energy and become involved with reducing climate change? Are these questions you have ever asked yourself? If so, plan to attend the upcoming meeting of the Energy and Climate Change Task Force, along with other members of the public, to discuss the draft Action Plan and next steps.

The meeting will be held at Charles Houston Recreation Center’s multipurpose room on Tuesday, October 25, from 6pm to 8:30pm with a virtual option also available via Zoom (see info below). No pre registration is required to attend. This will be a working meeting to gain feedback from the Task Force on the draft Energy and Climate Change Action Plan.

Meeting materials are posted on the Energy and Climate Change Action Plan website. Members of the public who wish to provide comments at the meeting or provide written comments should contact Bill Eger at [email protected] no later than 24 hours before the meeting.

The Energy and Climate Change Task Force was established by the City Council on September 22, 2020. The task force guides the City of Alexandria during the process of updating the City’s Energy and Climate Change Action Plan (ECCAP), including identifying and evaluating funding and budgeting strategies, specific implementation steps and approaches, and methods to measure and track progress against time-specific goals consistent with the Environmental Action Plan 2040.
