Looking for a Job? Upcoming Career Events Hosted by the City of Alexandria

Career Development Workshop and Hiiring Fair Feb. 27 and 28

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The City of Alexandria is committed to being an employer of choice. City representatives understand how daunting unemployment can be, especially in such unpredictable economic circumstances. They want to be a resource for people to get back into the workforce or advance their career.

To those individuals looking for work, the City of Alexandria is looking for you!

The Department of Human Resources is excited to host a Career Development Workshop and Hiring Fair. These free-of-charge events are an opportunity for people looking for a new or better career on a diverse team serving our community.

The Career Development Workshop is scheduled for Monday, February 27th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St. This program will provide job seekers with coaching on interviewing skills, resume reviewing & critiquing and strategies for creating your next opportunity after a lay-off.

After candidates are prepared, the City of Alexandria will host a Hiring Fair on Tuesday, February 28th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., also at the Lee Center. Departments represented include the Department of Community and Human Services; Finance Department: Department of Transportation & Environmental Services; Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities; and Information Technology Services.

Vacancies from departments across the city will also be shared on-site.

The Department of Human Resources is proud to have the Workforce Development Center assist with these community offerings. Job seekers can schedule a resume review session and register for the job hiring fair at alexandriava.gov/Jobs.
