Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Igor, a Good Buddy for Adventures

ALEXANDRIA, VA -Igor is a three-year-old dog with a heart as big as his noggin’. Igor was a huge hit with AWLA’s summer campers and is a staff and volunteer favorite. Igor did very well with the kids and was gentle. He loves to chase toys and play in the yard. He is a smart dog and knows the cues for sit and down. Igor is a good combo of low-key and active, so he will make a great adventure buddy. But also knows when it’s time to relax. He’s a strong boy and needs a little work on his leash manners, but he’s very food motivated, so there’s no end to what he can learn. Igor seems to be very interested in other playful pups, but he definitely needs someone in his weight class to play with. AWLA can facilitate doggie meet and greets at the shelter with any possible adopters. Igor is the life of the party and is constantly making people laugh with his goofy grins and silly antics. Adopting Igor means you’ll have a friend and constant (comedic) companion!

The AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing opportunities for adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach.
