ALEXANDRIA, VA-Alexandria is known for its historic buildings. One of the most storied, Gadsby’s Tavern – whose customers included George Washington and was the site of meetings during the American Revolution – will host a gingerbread house decorating event at its museum. Get into the holidays and learn about history at the same time. Mark Sunday, Dec. 17 on your calendar.  The event, from 1-6 p.m., invites you to build a famous building.

According to Visit Alexandria’s website, “Learn about local architecture as you decorate a flat “facade” (front), based on historic buildings around Gadsby’s Tavern Museum. Ticket includes one flat gingerbread facade, all the supplies needed to decorate, and admission to the museum.”

Fun for the whole family, a decorating kit for up to four people costs $25. Attendees are permitted to stay one hour. Sign up to reserve your space HERE; they are going quickly.

Gadsby’s Tavern Museum is located at 138 N. Royal St.
