Wednesday, November 20, 5 to 9 p.m., Volunteer at Readers Take the Stage — Wright to Read needs volunteers to assist with their annual community event. Volunteers will help with check-in, the raffle, and managing stations.

Dec 11 through 14, Volunteer for the Toy Drive — Volunteer Alexandria is seeking volunteers to help nearly 800 families have a brighter holiday this season! Assistance is needed with transporting toys from collection sites, counting, sorting, setting up, translating, gift wrapping, and providing support.

Dec 8 through 11, Assist with Holiday Sharing — The Department of Community & Human Services is looking for help with its Holiday Sharing program, which assists economically disadvantaged clients with toys and games for their children for the holidays. Volunteers would check-in clients, organize gifts, load vehicles, and, if possible, provide transportation.

Volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore — Collect and sort donations, price and stock items, clean, organize, and assist customers at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Volunteers must be 16 years old and older.

Photograph, Edit Video, or Create Content for Lucky Dog — Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers to film footage at weekend events, assist with editing video, or creating engaging content for its social media channels.

Join the SAPCA Board — The Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria (SAPCA) is looking for a chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer, and 5 board members. One member must be a middle or high school student.

Be a Snow Buddy this Winter — Elderly residents and people with disabilities are looking for a snow buddy to help them remove snow and ice this winter on their sidewalk and steps.

Prepare Taxes for Working Class Residents — Community Tax Aid is seeking volunteers to help people prepare and submit their taxes on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Training and certification will be offered.

Contact Families for the Toy Drive — The Department of Community & Human Services is looking for volunteers to contact Spanish-speaking families and enter data for Holiday Sharing, a program that distributes toys for residents.
