Alexandria, VA – With the holidays fast approaching, Mount Vernon Supervisor Dan Storck and his staff have turned their attention to two important facets of the season: A party to thank all of the district’s volunteers and community members and a food drive to help provide assistance to our neighbors in need.
On Wednesday, December 4, Storck will hold his traditional community Holiday Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at his office in the Mount Vernon Governmental Center, 2511 Parkers Lane.
The fete will provide an opportunity to meet Storck’s staff members, members of Mount Vernon Districts, Authorities and Commissions and a chance to see and mingle with fellow Mount Vernon residents. Light refreshments will be served.

Attendees are asked to sign up beforehand by calling 703-780-7518 and to bring donations for the food drive, co-sponsored this year by Storck and Mount Vernon School Board Representative Mateo Dunne. Those donating are asked to consider bringing healthy food options that are high in fiber and low in sugar and sodium.
All contributions will go to Gunston Elementary School to provide students and their families with food in time for the holidays. A bin is located in the hall outside the office where donations can be dropped at any time.
