Free Tax Prep Assistance for Alexandria Residents

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Department of Human and Community Services (DCHS) is offering free tax prep assistance to residents this tax season. Every Wednesday and Saturday between Feb. 1 and April 19, DCHS will help residents who qualify at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive).

You may be eligible if you or your family makes below $67,000 a year. The Alexandria eNews announcement reads: “Expert volunteers from Community Tax Aid, Inc. will ensure that taxpayers apply for all applicable credits and deductions, especially the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, which people may not realize they are eligible to receive. Electronic filing is provided.”

To make an appointment, call 202-830-1480. Walk-ins are welcome but space is limited so to guarantee getting the help you need, set up a time. Appointments can be booked on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Be sure to take your tax paperwork with you. When you call to make an appointment, ask about the required documentation.
