REMINDER: King Street Improvement Project Begins Feb. 23

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Phase One of the King Street Improvement Project begins Sunday, Feb. 23. The Alexandria Transit Company’s website says the project is meant to “reduce delays, improve service reliability, and reduce traffic congestion along the King Street Corridor, providing riders and residents with a smoother, simpler, and more accessible experience.”

Alexandria Transit Company operates DASH and the King Street Trolley, which will both be affected. Lines 30, 31, and the trolley will share stops from the King Street Metro Station to City Hall.

Note that these bus stop’s will be removed, according to the website:

  • EB King St & S. Peyton St
  • EB King St & S. Alfred St
  • EB King St & S. St. Asaph St
  • NB N. Fairfax St & Cameron St
  • WB King St & N. St. Asaph St
  • WB King St & N. Peyton St

Two will be added:

  • EB King St & S. Pitt St
  • WB King St & N. Pitt St
