Alexandria Plans Events Around the Bloom of the Cherry Blossoms

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The cherry blossoms will be at peak bloom from March 28 to 31, according to the National Park Service. Don’t miss your chance to see their beauty. To celebrate, Alexandria is planning cherry blossom-themed events including art displays. Food and drink specials will also be available.

Yesterday, Visit Alexandria released a summary of what is planned.

Water Taxi and Boat Tours

From Old Town Alexandria, traverse the Potomac River with City Cruises and sail alongside the cherry blossom trees during a 90-minute roundtrip Cherry Blossom Monuments Sightseeing Cruise on Saturdays and Sunday from March 22 to April 13, 2025. Or hop on the Potomac Water Taxi from March 20 to April 12, 2025, for a 25-minute direct cruise to The Wharf in Washington, D.C., a 10-minute walk to the iconic cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin.

Bike Rentals and Tours

Cruise beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms from Old Town Alexandria to Tidal Basin during an enchanting 3-hour Cherry Blossom Guided E-bike Tour with Pedego Electric Bikes while the cherry blossoms are in bloom, or rent a bike for the day and create your own adventure.

Art Events

See how local artists are inspired by cherry blossoms at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center’s Fleeting: An Exhibition of Artists from Torpedo Factory Art Center Celebrating Cherry Blossoms and Ethereal Blooms inside the Enamelists Gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
