Have Your Say: Alexandria Invites Residents to Help Shape Future Zoning Rules
Community meeting to look at land use, businesses, and historic preservation
Alexandria, VA — The City of Alexandria is inviting residents to help shape how the city grows and evolves. The Department of Planning & Zoning will host a community meeting on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 p.m. at The Lyceum (201 S. Washington Street) to discuss possible updates to the City’s Zoning Ordinance.

Zoning might sound technical, but it impacts everyday life — from how homes can be renovated to how businesses operate and how historic buildings are preserved. City planners want to hear from Alexandrians about what’s working, what’s not, and how the rules could be clearer or more flexible.
At the meeting, staff will walk through areas under review and explain how potential changes could affect residents and business owners. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and share their thoughts.
