AWLA Pawfect Match of the Week LEO

ALEXANDRIA, VA –

Gender: Male
Age: One year, seven months
Color: Brindle, Gray and White
About Me:

Hi there — I’m Leo! I’m a sweet, gentle young dog who’s ready to find my forever home. I came to the shelter as a local stray, but I haven’t let that dampen my sunny outlook on life. I’m about a year and seven months old and weigh 44 pounds, though I could definitely use a little help filling out — which means I’m very enthusiastic about treats and good meals!

I’m a polite young gentleman who sits nicely and takes treats softly. I enjoy going for walks, romping around with my furry friends, and playing with squeaky toys. Once I get to know you, I’m an affectionate guy who truly enjoys spending time with my favorite people. I may be gentle by nature, but I also have a playful side that comes out when I’m feeling comfortable and happy.

Ideal Match:

I’m looking for a loving home that will help me continue to grow into the best dog I can be. Because I’m still young, I’d be a great candidate for regular positive-reinforcement training — especially since I’m very treat-motivated and eager to please. A family or individual who enjoys walks, playtime, and bonding would be right up my alley.

Fun Fact: I know how to sit and I’m a sucker for squaky toys.

If you’re searching for a kindhearted companion with a sweet personality and lots of love to give, Leo just might be your guy. I’m currently available for adoption from an area foster home. To learn more or to meet him contact the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria — or call 703-746-4774, option 2.

Leo can’t wait to meet his forever family.
