Alexandria Seaport Foundation Spring2ACTion Events & Community Fundraisers

Alexandria, VA – The Alexandria Seaport Foundation is hosting a series of community events this April as part of Alexandria’s Spring2ACTion giving campaign. The events celebrate Seaport’s Apprentice Program, which equips young adults with woodworking and boat-building skills — and the confidence to build more self-sufficient futures.
Donations raised during Spring2ACTion provide crucial funding to the Apprentice Program. Early giving opens April 8 at spring2action.org/organization/ASF-S2A.

Saturday, April 18 — Open House at the Waterfront Workshop
Open House / ALX Dog Walk Stop, 7–11 a.m.
The public is invited to explore the McIlhenney Seaport Center’s waterfront workshop and see woodworking and boat-building projects firsthand. The Open House coincides with the popular ALX Dog Walk, and treats will be on hand for four-legged visitors and their owners alike.
Vessel Safety Check Information & Demonstrations, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Boating safety experts will be on site to offer information and demonstrations on vessel safety. West Marine will also be present with products available for purchase.
Tuesday, April 21 — Dine for the Cause at Chadwicks
5–9 p.m. | 203 Strand Street, Alexandria
Join neighbors, friends, and fellow supporters for an evening of food, drinks, and community spirit at Chadwicks. The restaurant will donate 10% of all customer checks during the event directly to the Alexandria Seaport Foundation.
How to Support the Apprentice Program
Donations can be made beginning April 8 through the Spring2ACTion platform. Every contribution helps young adults in the Alexandria community gain hands-on skills and confidence for the future.
