Age: 1 Year, 6 months

Weight: 44 pounds

About Me: Hi there, I’m Gemma—a 44-pound brown brindle beauty with the perfect blend of laid-back charm and playful energy. At just one-and-a-half years old, I’ve already mastered some of the important life skills: I’m crate trained, have pretty great house manners, and I’ve successfully lived with other dogs before.

I’m a curious girl who loves exploring the world through my nose—every walk is an adventure! Whether we’re strolling through the neighborhood or heading out for a peaceful hike in the woods, I’m your go-to companion. I’ve even been told I have pretty good leash manners (I try my best!).

I do have a playful side too—I love chasing balls… as long as you’re willing to do the throwing part. Deal?

Ideal Match: I’m a flexible, easy-going gal who could fit in with lots of different families. Whether you’re active and outdoorsy or more of a relaxed homebody, I’m happy to match your vibe.

My perfect match is someone who:

  • Enjoys walks, fresh air, and maybe the occasional hike
  • Doesn’t mind tossing a ball (or ten!)
  • Appreciates a dog who can be both independent and affectionate
  • Is ready for a loyal, loving companion

Bonus points if you’re looking for a best friend who will happily explore by your side and then chill with you afterward.

Fun Fact: I can chase balls all day if you throw them. Oh, wait, I already said that!

My adoption fees are paid and I will be spayed or neutered before you take me home. To learn more about me or meet me, contact the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria by emailing [email protected] or call 703-746-4774, option 2.
