Alexandria Teachers and Nurses Can Get Free Car Washes This Week at Mr Wash
Family-owned company says giveaway is a small thank-you for those who “shape and heal” the community

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Teachers and nurses spend their days taking care of everyone else. This week, Mr Wash Car Wash wants to do something nice for them for a change.
The longtime family-owned car wash company is offering free exterior car washes to teachers and nurses at all 11 Mr Wash locations through Friday, May 8.
Anyone eligible simply needs to show a valid work ID to a Mr Wash team member to receive the complimentary wash.
Company leaders said the promotion was intentionally spread across multiple days to accommodate the often unpredictable schedules of teachers, school staff, and healthcare workers — and to give people flexibility in case of bad weather.
“Teachers and nurses shape and heal our communities every single day,” said Mr Wash President Evan Harris. “Their work is demanding, and it’s often thankless. As a family-owned business rooted in this community, we wanted to find a meaningful way to say what so many of us are thinking: thank you.”
Founded in 1958, Mr Wash has grown into one of the region’s best-known car wash brands while remaining family-owned and locally focused. The company says community appreciation efforts like this are part of its broader mission to give back to the neighborhoods it serves.
The free wash offer arrives during Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses Week — two annual observances recognizing professions that often work long hours behind the scenes.
For many educators and healthcare workers, even a small gesture can go a long way.
And after months of early mornings, packed schedules, lesson plans, patient care, paperwork, and nonstop community service, a freshly cleaned car probably doesn’t hurt either.
