Alexandria Outdoor Pools Open for Summer

City Residents Eligible for Pool Season Discounted Passes (and Free Splash Fun)!

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities (RPCA) is ready to kick off summer as outdoor pool season officially begins Saturday, May 23. Residents and visitors can once again enjoy swimming, splashing, lap swimming, and relaxing poolside at Memorial Pool, Warwick Pool, Old Town Pool, and the popular Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain.

Save 15% on Outdoor Pool Passes Through May 25

Alexandria residents can save 15% on outdoor pool season passes through May 25, making it even easier to enjoy unlimited summer fun all season long.

Resident teen pool passes for ages 13–17 are available for just $39 for the full season.

The Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain is free and open daily throughout the season.

Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain Returns

Located between the playgrounds at Potomac Yard Park, the interactive fountain features 36 water jets, interactive spray sequences, and smart sensors that adjust water height based on weather conditions. The fountain also includes enhanced UV water treatment technology for added public safety.

Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend

  • Daily: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Labor Day Weekend through Mid-October

  • Daily: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Outdoor Pool Locations and Opening Weekend Hours

Memorial Pool at Charles Houston Recreation Center

901 Wythe Street. Ideal for families with young children, Memorial Pool features a smaller pool with a beach entry and therapeutic-friendly amenities. Free onsite parking is available.

Opening Weekend Hours

  • May 23–25: 10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Warwick Pool

3301 Landover Street. Warwick Pool includes a six-lane lap pool, accessible ramp, beach entry, and shallow-depth design suitable for all ages. A playground is located nearby.

Opening Weekend Hours

  • May 23–24: 11 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.
  • May 25: 10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Old Town Pool

1609 Cameron Street. Old Town Pool offers a large lap pool, diving well, and nearby picnic areas, playgrounds, and courts for a full day of outdoor fun. The smaller training pool will remain closed for the 2026 season.

Opening Weekend Hours

  • May 23–24: Noon – 7:45 p.m.
  • May 25: 10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
