Alexandria, VA – Through its Love in Action summer outreach, staff and volunteers with The Salvation Army Alexandria Citadel Corps prepare and deliver fresh meals to families in neighborhoods across Alexandria, Virginia. Along with the food come friendly faces, time to listen, and meaningful connections.

Salvation Army leaders say the program reflects the organization’s mission “to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.” Volunteers put that mission into practice by preparing meals, packaging food and spending their evenings meeting residents where they live.
