Arlington Blood Drive Seeks Donors Before Labor Day Weekend
Inova Needs 200 Donors Daily to Maintain Region’s Blood Supply as Labor Day Weekend Approaches
ARLINGTON, VA — The need is critical, and the opportunity to help is just days away. Fire Works Pizza will host the Arlington Community Blood Drive this Friday, September 4, as Inova Blood Donor Services continues to seek blood donors across the region.
The Inova Blood Donor Services Bloodmobile will be parked near Fire Works Pizza, 2350 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington’s Court House neighborhood, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Approximately 200 people need to donate blood, red cells, platelets and plasma every day to meet the needs of patients across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Friday’s drive comes just before Labor Day weekend, when many people will be traveling or wrapping up their summer plans. Inova is seeking donors of all blood types. The September 4 drive continues a partnership between Fire Works Pizza and Inova Blood Donor Services that brings the Bloodmobile directly into the Arlington community.
Donors who participate Friday will receive a $10 e-gift card while supplies last. Gift cards generally take seven to 10 business days to arrive by email, and donors must complete the screening process to receive the giveaway.
A photo ID is required. Donors should allow approximately one hour for the donation process.
