ALEXANDRIA, VA—Bah, humbug! The Little Theatre of Alexandria has nearly completed casting for its upcoming holiday production of “A Christmas Carol,” but one important character is still missing.
A casting notice posted by Frank Shutts in the DMV Theatre Facebook group says the theater is searching for a talented actor between the ages of 20 and 25 to portray young Ebenezer Scrooge and appear in several ensemble roles. All other roles in the production have been cast.
The successful actor should move well and be prepared to join rehearsals already underway. Regular rehearsals are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 1 p.m.
Performances are scheduled from Dec. 4 through Dec. 19, with evening shows Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 and 5 p.m.
Anyone interested in auditioning for young Scrooge—or seeking more information about the role—should contact Saúl Díaz Cruz at [email protected] by Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Founded in 1934, the Little Theatre of Alexandria has presented more than 450 productions and remains one of the region’s most active community theaters, according to the theater’s website.
Perhaps somewhere in Alexandria, a young actor is ready to step into Scrooge’s past—and onto the stage just in time for Christmas.
