Play Pac-Man for a Purpose at Alexandria’s Retro Arcade Night

ALEXANDRIA, VA— Alexandria families can revisit the glory days of Pac-Man, pinball and classic arcade games next week—and help local children while they play.
The Fund for Alexandria’s Child will hold its POWER UP! Retro Arcade Fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Continues Arcade Bar and Restaurant, 1050 N. Fayette St.
Arcade Games With a Bigger Purpose
The family-friendly evening will feature classic 1980s and ’90s arcade games, a live DJ, handheld bites, drinks and custom mocktails. The City describes the night as a chance to “power up for Alexandria’s kids,” with proceeds benefiting children in foster care and children at risk of abuse or neglect.
The Fund works through Alexandria’s Department of Community and Human Services to cover needs and experiences that public dollars may not reach—from basic necessities and emergency assistance to summer camp, sports, dance, art lessons, field trips and support for young people aging out of foster care.
Tickets are listed at $75 for adults 18 and older, $37.50 for ages 3–17, and $50 for resource parents and Department of Community and Human Services staff. Tickets and sponsorship information are available through the Fund’s official registration page.
For parents who remember fighting over the joystick—and for kids discovering the games for the first time—it is an Alexandria night out with a purpose: having fun while helping local children have more of the ordinary childhood experiences every child deserves.
