ARHA Residents Can Learn About Housing-Rule Changes at October 22 Session

The mainly virtual evening session offers residents a place to learn how the federal Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act affects them.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Housing rules can be difficult to follow, especially when a federal law is involved. ARHA is offering residents an opportunity to learn about the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act, known as HOTMA, on Thursday, October 22.

The session runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and is mainly virtual, according to the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s notice. A Zoom link is available on the event page.

ARHA says the session will explain how the law affects participants. The notice does not spell out individual policy changes, so residents should rely on their housing specialist for answers about their own circumstances.

The announcement also lists limited in-person seating at 401 Wythe St. However, its stated RSVP deadline was October 8. Residents hoping to attend in person should contact ARHA before traveling.

For seating accommodations, the notice directs residents to Denise Kaffka at [email protected] or 703-549-7115, ext. 1400.
