World Traveler Mikah Meyer to Speak and Visit Fairlington Church Feb 24

Mikah Meyer to Speak at Fairlington United Methodist Church Sunday, February 24

ALEXANDRIA, VA – On Sunday, February 24 at 9:30 am and 11:00 am, Mikah Meyer (www.MikahMeyer.com), national parks adventurer and National Cathedral countertenor singer, will share music and a message inspired by his nonstop, 3-year road trip to all 418 National Park Service sites.

As heard on NPR, Mikah has spent the past 34 months living in a cargo van while attempting to set a world record as the youngest person to visit all 418 National Park Service sites. He’s using the media attention to share a carpe diem message inspired by his father’s early passing from cancer, to provide a positive image of LGBT people, and to foster acceptance for LGBT Christians.

Hear how the church has played an inspiring role in his project.  Mikah will help Fairlington UMC celebrate its 6th year as a reconciling congregation.  Following services at 12:15pm, there will be a light lunch and QA session with Mikah in the church fellowship hall; the lunch event is free and no RSVP is required.
