Alexandria Sheriff’s Office Partners With U.S. Army To Offer Servicemembers Employment Opportunities
FORT BELVOIR, VA – Last month at the National Museum of the U.S. Army at Fort Belvoir, the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Army announced a new partnership. The Army’s Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) program will give servicemembers a path to success as they seek to transition to civilian life. The program, which the Sheriff’s Office applied to join, allows those interested to use a portal to look for job openings.
The Sheriff’s Office, hiring now, is also working with the Army to be a part of career fairs at Fort Belvoir.
During the ceremony, Chief Deputy Rawle Kelly and four-star General Paul E. Funk signed the official agreement, officially begining this momentous collaboration.
“This is a way to provide a path for young people,” said Kelly, “so I fully support this program and look forward to it growing.”
While PaYS cannot guarantee employment, with the Sheriff’s Office, it will help candidates through the hiring process and grant them an interview.
“I’m excited about our new partnership with the U.S. Army,” Sheriff Sean Casey told The Zebra. “Military veterans who want to continue serving the public deserve rewarding careers and the Sheriff’s Office is proud to offer them that opportunity.”
