Friday, November 29, 2 to 4 p.m., Bring the Holiday Spirit to a Local Nursing Home — Spread cheer and companionship to seniors living in a nursing home with the Holiday Project. Volunteers would play games and engage in holiday festivities.
Saturday, December 7, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Walk With Volunteer Alexandria in a Parade — Walk with Volunteer Alexandria at the Scottish Rite Parade to promote civic engagement and volunteerism. Volunteers will carry signs and pass out information.
Dec 8 through 11, Assist with Holiday Sharing — The Department of Community & Human Services is looking for help with its Holiday Sharing program, which assists economically disadvantaged clients with gifts for their children for the holidays.
Dec 11 through 14, Volunteer for the Toys4ALX Drive — Volunteer Alexandria is seeking volunteers to help nearly 800 families have a brighter holiday this season! Assistance is needed with transporting toys from collection sites, counting, sorting, setting up, translating, gift wrapping, and providing support.
Saturday, December 14, Translate for Toys4ALX — The Toys4ALX Toy Drive is looking for translators to help Spanish-speaking adults shopping for their children, give directions, and provide assistance.
Saturday, December 14, 1:15 to 4 p.m., Be A Toys4ALX Table Captain — Table Captains organize and stock tables and assist adults pick out gifts for their children.
Saturday, December 14, 1:15 to 4 p.m., Volunteer at Toys4ALX — Join Volunteer Alexandria by volunteering to help select toys and games with families and then clean-up at the annual Tos4ALX toy drive.
Support Elementary Students After-School — Support the academic and spiritual development of students in grades 1 through 5 with Casa Chirilagua. Training and orientation are provided. One day a week is required.
Repair Bicycles. No Experience Needed. — Repair bicycles that are provided to children, refugees, and people who are economically disadvantaged. Training will be provided by the Velocity Bike Shop. No experience necessary.
