Alexandria’s Reynolds St. Bar & Grill Among Best ‘Dive Bars’ in US

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Reynolds Street Bar & Grill (34 S. Reynolds St) is one of the best “dive bars” for food in the US. This according to the website Geek Nexus, which bills itself as a place on the web “where all aspects of modern life connect.”

Geek Nexus surveyed 3,000 people to create a list of 120 dive bars in the country serving “great” food. Reynolds Street Bar & Grill earned the 25th spot. The only other Virginia bar to make the list is Duck Dive Tavern in Virginia Beach.

“Dive bars have always been about community and character, but now they’re becoming known for their unexpectedly great food,” said Jake Valentine, the operations manager at Geek Nexus in a press release.

Reynolds Street Bar & Grill offers an extensive menu with hamburgers, pizza, and subs. For drinks, it has draft and bottled beer, white and red wine, and cider. The location is prime hangout for football fans, too.  Watch the NFL package on their big screen TVs. Want to catch a local game? Don’t worry. They have all the local and regional channels.

Tripadvisor gives the bar a rating of four out of five stars. Many Yelp reviewers highlight the pizza and friendly atmosphere.

Monday through Wednesday, 4 p.m. to Midnight

Thursday, 4 p.m.to 1 a.m.

Friday, 2 p.m.to 1 a.m.

Saturday, 4 p.m.to 1 a.m.

Sunday 12:30 p.m. to midnight
