The Exhibit Blockbuster Is Baaaack At Galactic Panther Gallery
Alexandria, VA – It was K-Pop mega-mania last month at Galactic Panther, Old Town’s most au courant progressive art gallery. Despite Arctic temperatures, fans lined up around the block for first dibs on exclusive signed merchandise and freebies tied to the K-Pop band ATEEZ’s new album, Golden Hour Pt. 4. While the “exceptional eight” were not in attendance, the gallery was decked out with immersive photo ops, giving die-hard fans a place to celebrate the release together.
It was truly a pARTay, pARTay, pARTay at Galactic Panther when the global K-Pop sensation dropped its latest album.
For art aficionados who prefer abstract exploration over pop-culture phenomenon, this month’s Galactic Panther artist spotlight offers a very different experience. Sculptural paintings by Irish artist Derick Smith are now on view.
Smith presents works of joyful, vibrant expression — a love letter to color and movement. His canvases push beyond traditional two-dimensional boundaries, with undulating waves of saturated color that feel almost musical in their rhythm. The works blur the line between painting and sculpture, transforming space and inviting viewers to experience color as motion.
Not to be missed.
