Could Your DASH Trip Change? Four Proposed Cuts Alexandria Riders Should Review
Route maps, a November 10 survey deadline and November 12 public hearing give riders a chance to speak up before any changes are adopted.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — DASH riders now have detailed maps and a deadline for responding to proposed bus-service reductions that could affect trips through the West End, Old Town and Potomac Yard.
DASH’s new emergency service-reduction page asks residents to complete a rider survey by 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 10. The Alexandria Transit Company board will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, at DASH headquarters, 3000 Business Center Drive. Residents may also participate through Zoom.
Which DASH routes could change?
The proposal would shorten Line 30 by ending service between the West Alexandria Transit Center and Van Dorn Metro. Line 31 would no longer run between King Street and Braddock Road Metro stations.
Lines 33 and 34 would be adjusted in Potomac Yard, with off-peak and weekend frequency dropping from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes. Line 102 would lose service between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., while peak buses would run every 45 minutes instead of every 30.
When would the changes begin?
DASH estimates the four changes would save approximately $1.92 million. No reduction is final. If approved, changes would begin no earlier than January 31, 2027.
The Zebra previously reported the DASH board’s 7–4 vote to advance the reduction package for public review. The new materials give riders an opportunity to see how individual routes could affect work, school, shopping and medical trips.
If You Want to Weigh In
