Bruce Springsteen Fans Invited to Rare Photograph Exhibit at Nepenthe Gallery This Weekend
“Greetings From Alexandria, VA” celebrates The Boss with rare photographs, vintage posters, and signed memorabilia timed to Nationals Park concert

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Bruce Springsteen fans won’t have to travel far to experience a little rock-and-roll history this weekend.
Nepenthe Gallery is hosting “Greetings From Alexandria, VA,” a special three-day exhibition celebrating the enduring legacy of Bruce Springsteen in conjunction with his highly anticipated Washington, D.C. concert at Nationals Park.
The free exhibition runs Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10, offering fans an opportunity to view — and purchase — rare fine art photography, vintage concert posters, autographed memorabilia, and other collectible items tied to Springsteen’s legendary career.

One of the exhibition’s centerpieces is a collection of more than two dozen photographs by the late photographer Phil Ceccola, whose early images of Springsteen helped document the artist’s rise in the 1970s. Ceccola captured some of Springsteen’s earliest performances at The Main Point near Philadelphia beginning in 1973, preserving candid moments from what many longtime fans affectionately call Springsteen’s “bearded years.”
The photographs offer a glimpse into a young musician before global fame arrived — intense performances, intimate club settings, and the raw energy that would eventually define one of rock music’s most enduring careers.
Although Phil Ceccola died in 2003, his brother Russ Ceccola has made a selection of previously unseen photographs available for the Alexandria exhibition. One of Phil Ceccola’s images was famously selected by Springsteen himself for the cover of the “Tracks” box set album.

Russ Ceccola will attend the exhibition on Friday and Saturday, sharing stories and behind-the-scenes memories connected to the photographs and Springsteen’s early touring years.
The exhibition will also feature work from other noted Springsteen photographers, including Alex Lowy’s well-known image of Springsteen performing in front of Philadelphia City Hall.

In addition to the photography collection, visitors can browse a curated selection of vintage concert posters, signed memorabilia, and collectible items spanning multiple eras of Springsteen’s career.
For Alexandria music fans — especially those heading into Washington for the Nationals Park show — the exhibit offers a unique local opportunity to experience a piece of rock history up close.
