Alexandria, VA – Food insecurity remains a daily reality for many Alexandrians. Each July, Volunteer Alexandria hosts Food4ALX, a citywide food drive supporting Alexandria’s food pantries. All donations go directly to ALIVE! and Hunger Free Alexandria. This year, our goal is to collect 40,000 pounds of food to help feed 2,500 families.

Summer is an especially challenging time for families facing hunger. Food donations typically decline, yet the need remains high, particularly for households with children who lose access to free or reduced-price school meals during summer break.

How can you help? Here’s how to get involved:

Be a Collection Site: Are you a local business? Host one of our collection boxes. You’ll be included on our website as a donation location.

Organize a Collection: Do you lead a community group looking for service opportunities? Register and organize. Every can helps!

Sponsorship: Donations fund our supplies, including signage and collection boxes.

Use the QR code below to access our interest form or visit https://bit.ly/4ub6oX3. Volunteer Alexandria will communicate the next steps in late June. Thank you for supporting our community!
