ALEXANDRIA,VA- Whether you are a Sunday stroller or a serious runner, this little 5k in Alexandria should attract your attention. The event is all about supporting a good cause, having some good laughs, promoting exercise and for some, the bobblehead trophies.

In an unusual, yet entirely within theme, GEEKY strategy, the hosts long ago thought bobblehead trophies would win the day, and they have. The race awards 90 bobbleheads to various winners as determined by age group and gender.

On Sunday, September 29, the race starts at 8:30 a.m. and finishes north of the circle at the south end of Main Line Boulevard, which is between Braddock Metro and George Washington Middle School on Mount Vernon Avenue.

For this year’s beneficiary, the 12th Annual RUN! GEEK! RUN! presenting sponsors, Ironistic and Hudson Studio have chosen the National Industries for the Blind, an association which enhances the personal and economic independence of people who are blind, primarily through creating, sustaining, and improving employment.

Ironistic is a full-service website design, development online and marketing firm headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Hudson Studio is a visual communications firm providing graphic design services for everything and anything in print from brand identities to infographics to reports to swag.

For more information on how to participate, volunteer, or sponsor the event, contact www.RunGeekRun.com.
