Alexandria Native Serves aboard USS Gerald R. Ford

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Oct. 22, 2019) Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Brandon Anderson, from Alexandria, Virginia, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) weapons department, speaks into a sound powered telephone in the ship’s pilot house during a general quarters training evolution aboard the ship. Ford conducted the general quarters and abandon ship training evolutions to better prepare the ship and crew in case of a real life casualty and in preparation for the crew getting underway.
