History & Fireworks Marked Holidays at Mount Vernon Estate

Alexandria, VA – George Washington’s Mount Vernon was a place of learning, playing, and shopping over the holiday season, drawing big crowds to its colonial encampments and fireworks displays. A favorite of young guests, the straw bundle maze was constantly busy, and Aladdin the camel cooly watched the revelers with nary a blink.

Free Admission to Mount Vernon Feb. 19 & 22

Visitors can celebrate George Washington’s Birthday with free admission to the estate on Feb. 19 and 22, President’s Day and Washington’s actual birthday, Tickets will be distributed on=site on a first come, first served basis to timed tours of the mansion.
