Alexandria Offers Trees for Sale to Help Build Canopy

The Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities is offering a native plant sale to help grow Alexandria’s tree canopy and under story. Beautify your yard, help the environment, and create habitat by planting high quality and ecologically valuable native tree and shrub species in your yard.

The following plants are available for purchase through Wednesday, October 31.

  • Flowering Dogwood: $30
  • Spicebush: $30
  • Persimmon: $30
  • New Jersey Tea: $30
  • White Oak: $40
  • Black Gum: $30

Orders can be placed online at https://rec.alexandriava.gov/webtrac/wbwsc/rt14prd.wsc/wbsplash.html (Click SHOP when you get to that page) or in person at the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center, 5750 Sanger Ave.

Plants will be available for pick up on Saturday, November 3 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center.
