ALEXANDRIA, VA – Everything has been different this year. The adjustment – staying home and away from friends – is especially hard for children. Aware of those difficulties and more, the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office (ASO), will be holding its “Junior Deputy” camp virtually to help keep kids busy.

A list, available HERE, and created by the ASO contains more than 100 activities. The activities are meant to be fun and demonstrate that every day deputies face challenges.

Some of the activities include completing an arts and crafts project, doing jumping jacks, reading a book to a sibling, writing a summary about a newspaper article, and making a time capsule.

Parents can take pictures of their child working on activities and post them to social media, tagging the ASO.

By finishing 25 activities on or before August 21, participants will receive a “junior deputy” certificate and patch. No registration is necessary and the virtual camp is free.
