Planning Commission Recommends Approval of Blackwall Hitch Waterfront Restaurant

Last month, the Alexandria Planning Commission recommended approval of plans to transform the vacant Torpedo Factory Food Pavilion into a single, 450-seat restaurant, the Blackwall Hitch, named after a nautical knot, which will offer American cuisine from locally sourced ingredients. Lead partner Larry Ray, a veteran of restaurant and health club ventures, and his partners are proposing a multi-million dollar overhaul of the pavilion, which will open in the summer or fall of 2014.
